Glasses. Nothing special but for some a necessity. For me, mostly for work and in this insistence I had to replace my ugly, thin, green ones that no longer fit my fat head. Being rid of those hideous glasses meant booking myself in for an eye test and awkwardly yet discretely trying on some frames that may or may not look right. Some people enjoy this experience, I loath it. It so uncomfortable and yes, awkward.
Since moving away from home, I’ve also moved from Optical Express to the Tunbridge Wells Specsavers and have been pretty chuffed with their service. I got my eyes checked about a week ago, not only was it extremely thorough, I was seen in the Opticians lunch break which I thought was really accommodating seeming as I was a walk in, on a Saturday, 3 weeks before Christmas. To top it off I was then able to collect my glasses a week later.
I’ve always gone for cheap frames because I only need them for reading/computer bits, plus glasses are apparently, really expensive. I normally tend to lean towards own brands as they work out the cheapest in store for around £50-80, which is a lot of money to me but actually really cheap for glasses. They also tend to do a deal on two for just hundred and something pounds. However, I stumbled across these Cheap Monday glasses for £45 reduced. The frames are roomy compared to my skinny green ones and they fit very comfortably. They had a tortoiseshell version which I was originally leaning towards going for but the grey marble effect caught me off guard. I thought they were very unusual and my love for grey made them an obvious choice.
I hope this was somewhat helpful, I know finding a pair of glasses can be a pain in the arse but Specsavers have got a great selection at the moment and great prices.
