Seeing as my Zara Wish List didn’t go down like a sack of shit, I thought I might go ahead and do another list, the… Dream List. The Things I’m saving up for.
Now that I’ve somewhat got my affairs in order, as in, I now know how to do online banking and understand where I’m being robbed. I’m now in a good position of understanding my incomings and outgoings a hell of a lot better. For starters I am now with Natwest and online banking has never been so easy. I can track where my money goes day to day and at the end of the month work out where I’ve been a bit frivolous to then tone it down next month. Ok, so sometimes it might take a few days for the app to register where the card has been used but it has made my life so much easier. I can budget a lot better and even create a savings account. Yup, I’m 23 years old and I have no savings. However, now that Andrew and I live together a lot of things have been halved now giving me that opportunity to save and although that happened a year ago I have only now just been able to put some money aside and call it savings.
The harsh reality of it is, that money does indeed go. No matter how savvy and smart you think you are about managing your money, one way or other, something seems to get in the way or crop up that at the end of the month can leave you penniless. However, I am so incredibly adamant to build up a savings account, I must not fail. I’ve done fairly well these last 2 month a feel bloody proud. Is it a hefty amount? No, but I have savings at that’s a start. However, knowing that there is a little bit of money to one side that will hopefully blossom, sometimes your mind can wander. So here’s my Dream List, the things I’d like to be able to purchase one day, from things that are not so expensive, to others that are very far from my reach!
Ok, I should probably state that pretty much all of these are materialistic and I probably don’t need them either but this is my dream list, stop judging me!
1. DJI Phantom 4 Quadcopter
A drone. If you’re heavily immersed into YouTube and value the art of filmmaking, you’ll probably have stumbled across Casey Neistat. His little films are not only inspiring but so original. His daily vlogs are also so incredibly artistic, his style is something you’d want to work towards having. From his editing skills, music choice and content, it’s perfection. His droning capability is so mind blowing that I want to purchase a drone and create footage that is so dreamy that it’s practically art too. The drone footage that Casey strives for pretty much makes life worth living. From holiday landscape shots to capturing the tops of skyscrapers. It’s something else and I want one so that I can experiment and achieve shots that could not only pull my own vlogs together but give me back the inspiration I had when I started vlogging in the first place. Definitely, an investment piece I’d die for. £1,229.00.
Bar the drone actually being my number 1 dream item to have right now, I don’t think I’m going to do these in order.
2. Velvet Matte Skin Tint SPF30/PA+++
As I said, price ranges are going to vary and although I could buy this item tomorrow, a foundation is something I really don’t like buying. From my experience and now a habit, I only buy high-end foundations. I feel the finish ends up being a lot better as is the quality, in my opinion. From Mac, Bareminerals, Bobbi Brown, Elizabeth Arden to Nars. Nars being my most up to date brand I like to repurchase from. I always seem to repurchase their Sheer Glow foundation but over the past 2 years, I’ve become so fussy. Trying their different colours thinking that was the issue, to then not liking the coverage, to then liking the formula again to then wanting a change. I get bored, leave it and then go back to it wondering why I stopped using it. I’m so weird like that. As I said, I’ve dabbled in other brands and got on well with them but Nars has always kinda done it for me.
I’ve tried Nars’ tinted moisturiser, got on with that for a few months then realised it wasn’t heavy enough for my liking, then went back to the Sheer Glow foundation, got on with that for a few months then it became very on and off to the point that now, I’m not sure what I like. Nars have recently released Velvet Matte Skin Tint and I reckon that could be the one from the texture to the finish it has, I reckon it might tick the boxes for me. However, being so incredibly indecisive at the moment, purchasing something like that and not getting on with it will just irritate me. So then finding the time to get skin colour tested and trying it in house would be my main option, I just haven’t had the time but it’s on my dream list and I will try it at some point, especially for £30.
3. Oribe Côte d’Azur Eau de Parfum
Oribe’s whole range is something to die for because of their signature scent. To make things a little bit easier to achieve the ultimate goal, I want this perfume that they do. I’d spray it on my clothes, my pillows but mainly on my hair when is damp AND when it’s dry so that it would seem like I’ve just had my hair done with their products. I’d always smell incredibly on point. I also wouldn’t mind a Tom Ford perfume but they all smell so good I couldn’t choose one to put on my dream list. Therefore this is the one for me. 50ml, £62.
4. Disney X Coach – MICKEY Saddle Bag, Glove Tanned Leather
I think this one is self-explanatory really. Again, I’d want the whole of this limited edition range but I’m trying not to be greedy, although this is MY dream list. Therefore, I narrowed it down to this bag. I’ve never owned a designer bag before so this would be a pretty cool first designer bag to have. Dreamed of it ever since I laid eyes on it, £595.
5. Walt Disney World Holiday, Florida
I’ve wanted to go to Disney World since I was about 7. That was when my best friend, at the time went there for a family holiday. I remember her telling me how much fun she had, who she met and what she came back with. When I asked my dad whether we could go it was a painful, no. This was only because my brother was too young and it probably would’ve been too expensive at the time.
Ever since meeting Andrew and his family, the love for not only Disney but Walt Disney World has reentered my life. That’s because Andy, his mum and dad are Disney freaks and I say that with love. Their connection with Disney is actually pretty understandable. I think anyone that grew up with Disney knows how nostalgic it can be and Andy’s mum and dad made Disney something special for Andrew, something that has definitely got sentimental value. Therefore making it a holiday that I must experience, even though they’ve experienced it several hundred times, my dream would be for all of us to go together. Price range? For Andrew and I, around £2900.00.
6. Ikea Furniture
This year or possibly next, Andrew and I are planning on trying to find somewhere that’s a bit bigger than where we are currently living. I was living on my own before Andrew moved in with me and really, it’s for one person. Although I go back and forth from Essex to work, in the week I’m away for 4 days so it’s ok at the moment. When we are both at home, we are a bit on top of each other, considering we also live with a dog and a house rabbit, it can get a little snug. Putting money aside for future furniture is what most of any of the money I do save will end up going towards, as it would be more of an actual need than a want.
7. Neom Reed Diffuser
This brand is quality. At the beginning of this year when I was going private and seeing a Gastroenterologist, in the waiting room they had one of these. The room smelt expensive if that is at all possible? So I definitely want one but can’t say I’ve ever spent £38 on a reed diffuser, yet.
8. Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer Spf15 30ml
When I paid to have my makeup done for my 21st birthday, the makeup artist used this on my face. This is the shit. My makeup was flawless all night and everything was in place, I even looked pretty decent the next morning. I was obviously too drunk to take all the makeup off but it ended up being a pretty good test of how powerful the primer is. 10/10 but for £52 it’s a little too step.
9. A Personal Trainer
I’d like to find a personal trainer up at my dads as I’m there more often now. I want one not only because I have no social life when I’m up there but also because I desperately need help. This might have to be elaborated in another post but I basically need someone that will help get me to where I desperately want to be. Someone that would be able to accommodate my stomach issues as at times I can’t be as mobile and active as I’d like to be. Losing weight has been such a challenge because of my stomach, that it has ultimately backed me into a corner where I felt that there isn’t any point in even attempting to be active in or out the gym as it always ends up going a bit sour. Having someone there with me, trying what my body can and can’t take and then finding out what types of exercises to focus on would be ideal. Again, this is probably something I’d rather elaborate on in a separate post as this will be one of the first things I’ll be ticking off in the near future.
10. VW Scirocco
So, this is my dream car. Yep, no Ferrari but this is the desired car that would be perfect for my lifestyle. I’d want it in grey or the newest come in a navy/grey colour, they’re a head turner for sure. I’d also want it as a diesel, to be automatic, with climate control and a panoramic roof, probably leather seats as well, why not! VW’s are known to be reliable, this being particularly economical especially when going back and forth on the motorway. Also, a nice luxury car and looks like it would be nice to drive. I like the style and size of this model and I think they look quite sporty.
So, there you go. Just a few things that are tickling my fancy. As I said, some are very far off and then some that are quite achievable. However, my main goal is to keep money in the bank and build upon it, only spend money when I can afford to after putting some away. I’m sure many of you do this already but just bare with me, or humour me if you don’t mind.
