I never really had this blog idea in mind until I was actually in the shower the other day and thought it was a must.
If you don’t follow my weeklyvlogs (seems like I always start off with that, sorry) I almost always chat about my bath routine. I have one a week where I do all my maintenance from exfoliating to shaving my legs. I maybe thought it was a bit predictable to come out with a post about ‘My Bath Essentials’ or ‘My Bath Routine’ only because of how much I talk about it. However, I thought I’d start with My Shower Essentials and what products have been making a bit of an impact on me this summer.
Hair. I’ve grown a massive love for the L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner. I hate it when brands rave about how moisture rich their products are and then they fail to deliver and you’ve wasted your money and have to pass it on to a family member. I have heavily coloured hair so I need something to replenish it and give it that healthy look again and these two products blood deliver.
My hair was so average for months, the only thing that would help was a hair mask once a week (which I’d leave on for way over an hour) but not everyone has the time to make that happen. After using these two products for over a month now, it’s back to being naturally wavy/curly.
I don’t know whether this was worth adding it in and labelling it as a summer essential because I don’t think I’ll be moving away from these two products anytime soon. However, maybe my hair in this heat and humidity needs a light oil based shampoo and conditioners to tame it. It nourishes yet protects my hair from further damage, what more could you want? Well, a drone, please.
Body wash. OK, so I finally gave in, or should I say Andrew finally gave in and bought me the Lush Comforter Shower Cream. I’ve got such a connection to the smell of this product. For some reason it’s so nostalgic to me and reminds me of being a kid, at a party, drinking that standard blackcurrant drink. There’s definitely a smell there that has to connect these two. I love it and I think each season or as and when, it’s so important to pick a favourite fragrant of body wash and embrace it, shake the tree a little. For summer The Comforter is mine. I think it’s good to shake things up so that you don’t get bored. I’d hate to get to a point where I end up hating this product or not get excited about it anymore. So, for the next month or two, this will be my thing then I’ll rave about something else and come back to it!
Nivea, In-Shower Body Moisturiser. Yeah, I’m still into this product. Whipped it out especially for summer. I rely on this mainly because I fake tan and it’s crucial to keep the skin moisturised to prolong the tan.
Now that we’re getting a bit more sun, I’m exposing my body a bit more and there’s nothing worse than having shitty dry skin, so this is a saviour. Although I moisturise almost every day, when summer hits everything needs to be a bit easier, don’t you think? With this product, after washing myself with The Comforter, I lather my body up with this body moisturiser. They say you can be super speedy with it, lather it on and then immediately wash it off. I kinda linger a little while. I let it soak into my skin and whilst it’s doing that I’d move on to working the L’Oreal conditioner into my hair. Once I’m done I’m then or around about ready to wash off the body moisturiser. That’s what I’ve found works for me and it’s so nice to jump out of the shower and not have your skin cry for moisture. It can be so quick and extremely convenient, I love it.
Lastly, Lush’s gorilla perfumes are the shit. Breath of God is so incredibly beautiful and fresh that I think it’s perfect for summer. I originally bought this a few months ago for Andrew but I’ve fallen for it that I’ve started using it too. All of Lush’s perfumes are unisex and although its semi musky I’m making a stand and making it work for me.
With regards to my shower routine, after I’m out, in a towel, I’ll quickly grab this perfume and put two drops behind each ear and let it works its magic. Perfect end to a perfect shower and a great way to make something your scent.
I hoped you enjoyed this one, it was a little weird. Let me know if you use any of these products and also let me know your thought. I love reading the comments and finding new blogs to read so don’t be shy.
Lotsa Love, x
