I’ve been making various lists on various different things (I love making lists) and a regular list of mine is ideas for blog posts. I’m definitely fully aware that I’m not the only person that does this, I know a good few bloggers who make lists that are as long as their arms but I struggle. I only put certain ideas onto lists where I know I will be able to passionately write about it, hence why some of my posts aren’t always as regular as I’d like. I’m trying to do the whole, Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday thing, haven’t mastered it yet but I reckon I’ll get there.
Everything to me has to be relevant. I struggle to read blogs where every day, or every few days it’s another product that’s being raved about that’s pretty much identical to similar ones that week. It starts to get a little hypercritical which makes me then think that these ‘bloggers’ probably aren’t even that fussed about the products themselves. Anything I post is honest, real and has some sort of relevance and I love other bloggers that take that path too. I should probably do a post on my favourite bloggers and where to find them, hang on, let me add that onto my list…
…Moving on. This post is all about vlogging and my equipment. Saying ‘equipment’ is probably a bit of a stretch, it’s more of the things I like using that makes vlogging fun for me and somewhat easy. YES, I still want that drone but that’ll have to wait but a definite ‘equipment’ add on some point in the future.
I’ve been a lover of YouTube since the very beginning and eventually found my favourite YouTubers that I could relate to and eventually found that vlogging was the way forward although it was only until this year I started giving it a go myself. They’re videos that make you feel like its ok to be nosey. I assume that’s why they can be a winner, everyone has their nosey moments. Having a vlogging binge is my idea of heaven. I also like how you can immediately learn several things about someone you don’t even know in some cases in under 10 minutes. There’s daily vlogging, weekly vlogging, holiday vlogging. You get so easily addicted and sucked into other people’s lives, which probably isn’t that healthy but I find it not only fascinating but a better option than TV.
I don’t watch the typical Youtubers. The likes of, Zoella, Alfie, Tanya Burr, In The Frow, Gabriella, those girls that are twins, I can’t remember their names but those two, to name a few. With bigger YouTubers that are living a crazy lifestyle, it gets or for me, got to a point where I couldn’t personally relate to them. No doubt, of course, they are probably nice people but I guess I thrive on the real, hardcore reality shit. I don’t want to watch ones where, they wake up at 1, make a video, take a shower, debate on cleaning, talk about another flat they’re about to move into in London that an average person would desperately struggle to afford. Good for them, you’ve gotten to a point where you can afford that because of what you do but I guess watching ordinary life is far more interesting for me. Casey Neistat is probably the only acceptation. He is crazy creative and an incredibly inspiring person, well-done sir.
I recently stopped vlogging for a week or two as I hit a very hard self-esteem hiccup. One day, I just woke up and shoving a camera in my face made me feel sick. I’m not on YouTube to rack up views and subscribers although I do get a little excited when I get a few. However, I do this for me because I have a huge love for being creative and a huge love for YouTube rather than watching my favourite YouTubers videos I actually want to make my own.
I can’t draw, paint or make crafty things but anything that’s related to cameras or camera gear, excites me so why haven’t I been doing this since day one? I feel like it’s almost crucial for me to have something creative in my life and I glad that not only blogging but vlogging has also come into play. I’m glad I did have a little break because it made me realise how much I missed making weekly videos, from putting together a thumbnail to choosing what music to overlay.
If you fancy it, check out my latest vlog, slowly put surely getting back into it and I hope that over the next couple of weeks it’ll look like I’ve upped my game a tad. Also, if you’re a YouTuber too, please do leave your channel below as I’m lacking some variety in my feed!
